Saddle Stools & Chairs
Saddle stools are excellent for using with our Handi Quilter and other brands of longarm machines. You no longer have to see the frame movable system as being a machine you stand at. It's particularly good when micro quilting as your field of view is much better for your neck when you're sitting.
There are inexpensive versions available online but if you're using a chair or stool on a regular basis it's important that it's comfortable and well made. So we've sourced one which is high quality with excellent wheels, base and fitments, designed for daily use. We've tested it fully with a foot support. We have both a non-backrest and backrest version in our showroom for you to test at classes or to view on a visit.
The shape of The Libbery saddle stool combined with the unique mechanism of tilt and height adjustment allows the quilter to move forwards and backwards freely and with the push of a lever lock the saddle in any desired position whilst the second lever adjust the seat height. When you sit on the saddle stool your pelvis is in a near neutral position … just like the saddle on a horse the pelvic position allows your spinal curves to balance more easily in proper alignment and reduces muscle strain. Science aside, this means a much more comfortable day quilting or sewing.
There is no need for a lumbar adjustment when you sit on the saddle stool because it maintains your correct lumbar curve naturally; the stool promotes good arm and hand control which is especially beneficial whilst sitting quilting at a movable or stationary machine. It improves circulation and encourages correct posture and mobility.
The Libbery does not have a foot rest. It has a standard 12" (305mm) stem which works best for most of our customers. If you wish to change to a shorter stem the details are as follows:
A] 9" (230mm) = lowest 21″ up to 28″
B] 12" (305mm) = lowest 25″ up to 33″.
The Libbery is like the Model T Ford - it is only available in BLACK.
