Take your quilting on to the next level with this Rulers, Feathers and Fill Workshop with Liz Holpin from Pinhole Quilting and Handi Quilter Educator Abigail Sheridan de Graaff. We'll cover quilting designs - stencils and marking your quilt with pens and easy mark methods. How to do Feathers. How to Quilt your Quilt session with some filler ideas that we will put into practise after some drawing and how to break your quilt down into block and border designs. Throughout the day we'll be changing threads and building skills with lots of hands on!
There will be opportunity to browse our range of Handi Quilter accessories and Glide thread during breaks.
One machine per student!
100% of attendees from October 2017 course feedback rated the course as "Excellent"
"Practical and detailed presentations and demonstrations from very knowledgeable and experienced people. Quality and range of the student exercises was excellent. Personal time taken to answer questions and assist at the machine was invaluable. Great class size and plenty of space to work in. The range of supplies available for students to use within the workshop was fabulous. The facilities are excellent and the lunches superb."
People particularly liked:
"The introduction to techniques I had not considered nor attempted with success before."
"Friendliness and I learnt to do feathers!!"
"Getting to know other users."
Sitdown and standup longarm will be taught simultaneously on the same day as there are a number of techniques that are common to all Handi Quilter machines.
In order to maximise learning and consolidation of skills there will be one student per machine for all machines. The sitdown machines will be a mix of Handi Quilter Capri, Sweet Sixteen and Pfaff powerquilter 16.0. Many of the features of the two models are similar and can easily be explained. The standup machines are a mix of Amara or Avante on demonstration Studio Frames and Simply Sixteens on Little Foot and Studio Frames. Many of the techniques taught apply to all machines. We will try to match you to the machine you have but on some occasions this will not be possible (or may be possible but only for part of the day). If you have an Infinity or Forte we recommend that you book onto an Amara.
Start Time: Saturday 26th September 2020. Please arrive for 09:15. We will start at 09:30 prompt.
