Join us on Thursday 21st November for our Improv Quilting Workshop with Handi Quilter Educator Abigail Sheridan de Graaff. A further One-Day Workshop called "Dream Big" is available on Friday 22nd November - why not do both and really hone your free motion quilting skills!
Abigail has developed her own style of quilting since she purchased her Avante in 2015. You can see examples of her quilts as part of the displays at the Grosvenor Quilts Shows through 2019. Many of her quilts use this style of quilting. It builds on basic shapes and designs and through its creative use each quilter can, over time, develop their own style. From pebbles and paisley to swirls and echoes learn how to combine them into a cohesive design which you can use to fill negative space, fill around applique or scale up for a unique all over design.
Boost your confidence and knowledge and go to the next level of your Longarm Learning Curve!
We have ONE MACHINE per person on this workshop. Plus we demonstrate some of the techniques on a large screen so that you can stand at your machine and immediately practice what you've seen. Both these factors really increase the amount you can learn in a day. Yay!
This is the excellent feedback from the last Improv Quilting Workshop - many mentioned how much they enjoyed meeting other like-minded quilters.
"The Workshop was very well structured. I loved that we had so much time on the machines and were able to explore the varying techniques. Great day!"
"Very friendly, lovely to see other like minded quilters and see what they create"
The best thing was we were "..able to watch Abigail sew on a large screen".
"Absolutely loved it!"
For more information about Abigail please visit her Cut&Alter website.
Suitable for All Levels
In order to maximise learning and consolidation of skills there will be one student per machine for all machines. The sitdown machines will be a mix of Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen and Pfaff powerquilter 16.0. Many of the features of the two models are similar and can easily be explained. The standup machines are a mix of Infinity or Forte on Gallery Frames, Amara or Avante on demonstration Studio Frames and Simply Sixteens on Little Foot and Studio Frames.
Note: This is a techniques based class for Handi Quilter Owners. All students should already be familiar with the functions of a Handi Quilter longarm machine and have attended our Foundation Workshop and have a good working knowledge of the Handi Quilter machines. If you have selected a machine that you are not familiar with or need advice on whether this class is suitable please email us in in advance - email@example.com

Where can we stay?
Pershore is only 3 miles away and there are a number of places to stay in Pershore or in the surrounding villages such as The Wood Norton near Evesham. The Angel Hotel in Pershore is very variable in quality and we cannot recommend it at the current time.
There is a Premier Inn by Evesham Country Park which is 12-15 minutes drive away.
There are a number of B&Bs close by that are well-reviewed online. For more recommendations visit our Classes page on our Pinhole Quilting Website.
All the classroom areas, eating and restrooms are on the ground floor and are wheelchair accessible.
If there are insufficient numbers to run the workshop we may have to cancel it. A refund is limited to the cost of the course that you have paid.
There are no refund on this course. We would suggest that if you have other expenses such as hotels, flights, etc that you take out travel insurance in the event that you are ill, etc.
