Introduction to Longarm Quilting

Join Stuart Hillard to find out how he uses his Longarm Quilting Machine for his quilts and how it could help you finish more quilts and make it fun too.

Stuart will be showing some of his quilts and telling his quilting story. We’ll take you through some of the main quilting techniques that can be used on Handi Quilter machines. So, if you’re a complete beginner to longarm quilting and are looking for more than a quick demonstration this is the session for you. 

We’ll cover simple free motion quilting designs from the front of the machine, quilting from the back using Pantographs plus an introduction to computerised quilting as well. Even if you’re not an artist you can quilt! We will be using Handi Quilter 20” Amara Longarms and Handi Quilter 15” and 18" Moxie moveable Longarms, as well as the Amara ST and Moxie ST sit down machines.

Suitable for beginners to intermediate - those new to Longarm quilting, curious about longarm quilting or with some basic knowledge.

£10 per ticket to reserve your place. The £10 ticket can be fully redeemed against purchases (for example, Glide and Superior threads) on the day.

Morning Session 10am to 2pm. Includes drinks and snacks!

By Plane: Fly into Birmingham International Airport. Trains from Birmingham International to Worcester Parkway take about one hour and run every hour. There is one change at Birmingham New Street. It may be possible to arrange a taxi or by prior arrangement we can pick you up. It is less than 15 minutes to our showroom from Worcester Parkway. We recommend you stay at a hotel in Pershore or Pinvin or at one of the Pub B&Bs in Upton Snodsbury or Flyford Flavell so that we can take you to the Showroom (we live close by).

By Car: It is 10 minutes drive from Junction 6 of the M5. There is plenty of free parking.

By Train: From the new Worcester Parkway it is 15 minutes (7 miles), Pershore BR Station is 5 minutes (1.6 miles). From Foregate or Shrub Hill in Worcester to our Showroom at Highgrove Farm is 20 minutes (10 miles).

All the classroom areas, eating and restrooms are on the ground floor and are wheelchair accessible. 

Cancellation

If there are insufficient numbers to run the event or for other circumstances where it is no longer possible, we may have to cancel it.

A refund is limited to the cost of the course that you have paid.

There are no refunds on this course. We would suggest that if you have other expenses such as hotels, flights, etc that you take out travel insurance in the event that you are ill, etc.
