Zoom Talk and Q&A with Vendulka Battais

Award winning quilter Vendulka Battais will talk about her experience entering quilt competitions and hopefully encouraging others to enter as well.  From her post of a newly qualified Quilt Judge she will explain the ins and outs of this process and clarify some myths. She can also talk about her winning experience as she has won several awards at the Festival of Quilts amongst the best achievements is Best in the Show Award (sponsored by Handi Quilter) in 2021.

This is a great opportunity to hear from someone who has experience both as an entrant and a judge at high level. It would be of interest not only to those who are thinking of entering, but also those who visit shows and are looking for more insight into the judging process.

At the end of her talk, there will be a Q&A session.

Talk 6pm - 7pm, then Q&A 7pm - 7:15pm

£20 per ticket.

You will be sent the Zoom link approximately a week before.

Good talk, plenty to think about

Gretta Edley | Notts/Leicester | January 2025

A really useful session on the ins and outs of quilt judging.

Vendulka looked at what was involved in becoming an accredited UK quilt judge and discussed the judging process in detail, with particular reference to the Festival of Quilts. I found the talk extremely useful in both respects.
