Stuart will be talking about some of his latest projects - fabrics, design and quilting inspo! In this Show and Tell enjoy seeing quilts from his book "Quilts from the Country" published in September 2024. Discover why Stuart loves his Handi Quilter longarm and how he uses it to achieve beautiful results.
For those running a quilting business he'll also give insights into some of the practical tips and techniques of using the Pro-Stitcher from a commercial perspective.
After his talk you'll have the opportunity to try out our longarm machines, purchase Glide thread and other quilting supplies or chat with Stuart and Pinhole Quilting staff about how longarm quilting machines can transform your flimsies into finishes.
This is also a great opportunity to see our selection of domestic machines from Janome, Pfaff and Juki. If you are interested in these please let us know when you book.

Choose either the morning or afternoon session.
Morning Session from 9am to 12 noon. Stuart's talk begins at 9:30am.

Instantly recognizable as the maverick star of BBC2’s “The Great British Sewing Bee”, Stuart Hillard is a Handi Quilter Ambassador, quilt designer, maker and home décor expert. He has more than twenty-five years’ experience and hundreds of published patterns to his name. His approach is fun and fresh, inclusive and achievable.
Stuart’s designs have graced the covers of many magazines including McCall’s Quilting in the US and Perfect Patchwork in Germany. He has also appeared in Simply Sewing, Molly Makes, Sewing World, and many other publications, sharing his expertise and sense of fun. Stuart writes monthly columns on home décor and interiors trends for Sew and Style and Home Magazine in the UK. His hugely popular Scrap Attack column in Popular Patchwork Magazine has been inspiring quilters to use up their scraps in fabulous designs for three years.
Hugely prolific, Stuart loves the HQ Pro-Stitcher on his HQ Amara, enabling him to finish quilts beautifully in record time.

COVID 19
You must not attend if you have a positive result.
You should not attend if you have a temperature or exhibit any of the symptoms of Covid-19.
We will be adhering to the Covid rules currently in force. You should sanitise your hands regularly.
Our showroom has high ceilings and is well ventilated.
The class may be cancelled with late notice due to circumstances beyond our control.
In that event we will rearrange the class for another date.
If the Covid rules change we will update the information by email the week before the class.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

By Plane: Fly into Birmingham International Airport. Trains from Birmingham International to Worcester Parkway take about one hour and run every hour. There is one change at Birmingham New Street. It may be possible to arrange a taxi or by prior arrangement we can pick you up. It is less than 15 minutes to our showroom from Worcester Parkway. We recommend you stay at a hotel in Pershore or Pinvin or at one of the Pub B&Bs in Upton Snodsbury or Flyford Flavell so that we can take you to the Showroom (we live close by).
By Car: It is 10 minutes drive from Junction 6 of the M5. There is plenty of free parking.
By Train: From the new Worcester Parkway it is 15 minutes (7 miles), Pershore BR Station is 5 minutes (1.6 miles). From Foregate or Shrub Hill in Worcester to our Showroom at Highgrove Farm is 20 minutes (10 miles).
Note that Taxis are not always easily available in this area which is very rural. Call Bishampton Private Hire on 07300 424349 or Bishampton Taxis on 07944 345118 to book in advance.
Where can we stay?
Pershore is only 3 miles away and there are a number of places to stay in Pershore or in the surrounding villages such as The Oak at Upton Snodsbury, The Boot Pub at Flyford Flavell, The Wood Norton near Evesham. See our website for more options.
Accessibility
All the classroom areas, eating and restrooms are on the ground floor and are wheelchair accessible.
Cancellation
If there are insufficient numbers to run the event or for other circumstances where it is no longer possible, we may have to cancel it.
If we have to cancel because of Covid-19 we will rearrange to another date. You should ensure that any hotels or B&Bs that you book can be cancelled, that you have suitable insurance or that you accept that the course may be cancelled with little notice due to circumstances outside of our control.
A refund is limited to the cost of the course that you have paid.
Refunds
There are no refunds on this course. We would suggest that if you have other expenses such as hotels, flights, etc that you take out travel insurance in the event that you are ill, etc.
